Hotel Slon

What? You thought the world's largest hotel chain didn't have it's foot in Ljubljana's door? Actually, Best Western established today's Hotel Slon ('Hotel Elephant') shortly after WWII, though it's history goes back some 500 years. Well-stationed in the city centre, Slon is a proverbial white elephant indeed, imposing over the skyline, though not necessarily beautifying or blemishing it. Take a tour inside, however, and you'll encounter 171 modern, fully-equipped rooms, conference facilities, a sauna, artsy cafe and classy restaurant. Valet parking is available if you're the kind of person who likes to pay money to give the keys of your vehicle to a complete stranger, but perhaps the perk of greatest promise is the gluttonous American breakfast buffet - free for guests!
