Ljubljana Zoo

OK, it's no London zoo, but Ljubljana's wildlife offering isn't as shoddy as you might expect. All of the usual big-guns are here, lions, tigers, monkeys, giraffes, elephants etc. In fact, 152 different species call this place their home! Stuck right in the middle of the forest, this place doubles up as a long nature-walk, but don't let that put you off! There are heaps of things to keep the kids, and the big kids (you know who you are) amused, not least of all the creative workshops. Come on a Thursday or Saturday evening from 9 to 11 for a guided night tour. Wanna know what the best part of the zoo is? No competition, the chimp enclosure wins by a country mile. Funny little fellas, they look and behave like our dads!

Not a great zoo, but a couple of hours here were ok. Chimps are a bit cramped, poor guys!
