Slalom World Cup Events Wrap Up

The Slovenian winter sports town of Kranjska Gora, located in the Julian Alps, is where one event of the Alpine skiing World Cup series takes place every year. Also known as the Vitranc Cup, the event hosts slalom and giant slalom events, and wrapped up earlier this month.

The men’s slalom race was won by Austrian Mario Matt, who finished the course in 1 minute 49.14 seconds, 0.09 ahead of Nolan Kasper of the US and Swede Axel Baeck. There were also high hopes for Ivica Kostelic and Jean-Baptise Grange, however they suffered disqualifications. This is Mario Matt’s 14th World Cup win.
