Gold Medal for Ljubljana Pavilion

Slovenia’s pavilion, dedicated to the city of Ljubljana, was awarded the gold medal for creative interior design (in the category of up to 2000m-squared pavilions) at the closing ceremony of the Shanghai Expo 2010 in China.

The prestigious award for creative interior design in other size pavilions was also awarded to countries such as Saudi Arabia and Sweden.

Slovenia’s pavilion was designed according to the theme of “Open Book”, as Ljubljana is currently the World Book Capital according to UNESCO. Events dedicated to this year-long event are still taking place in Ljubljana, and can be explored at the official website. Ljubljana will remain the World Book Capital until 23 April 2011.
