Airport to be closed in mid-April

Leaving every traveler with anxiety and what seems simply unimaginable for JFK or Heathrow, Ljubljana’s airport will shut down all traffic between 7th and 21st April. Most of the air traffic will be moved to the airport in Maribor, about 130 km from Ljubljana. According to representatives of Adria airlines, which accounts for most of the airport’s traffic, free bus service will be organized for all passengers and extra time for the transfer will be considered in flight times. As statements by other carriers remain unclear, travelers should check with their respective airlines. While Air France announced it will fly from Trieste, for example, Easyjet cancelled all its flights. The closing is for the completion of a renovation project, aimed at increasing the safety of the main runway.
