Christmas and New Year's in Ljubljana

The holiday season is finally upon us, and just as any city with a Christmas tradition, Ljubljana is dressing up for the occasion. By now, the city is filled with festive lights and decorations, but there are also several special events worth looking out for during the holidays.

Stop by the Cobbler's Bridge between 26th and 30th December to see the Grandpa Frost processions (5pm) and street theatre performances (7pm). The main square, Preseren, is the location of several concerts taking place throughout winter. Stop by from 26th December to January 2nd (except December 31st) at 8pm for a free musical treat.

Preseren trg Square is also the place to be for the biggest New Year's Eve celebrations on December 31st starting at 9pm. Mestni trg square will also have its own free public celebrations for New Year's Eve starting at 9pm.
