This summer, like every summer since 1952, Ljubljana will once again host the main attraction from it's cultural calendar - the Ljubljana Festival. This yearly celebration has a diverse program of events featuring accomplished and highly regarded artists from various countries and disciplines. The Festival attracts crowds of over 50,000. Taking place at the Ljubljana Castle and other venues, this year's highlights include performances by the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, Marjana Lipovsek, Vadim Repin, Krzysztof Penderecki and many others.
