Mexico 1867

Hidden behind Union brewery, Mexico 1867 is almost as much of an assault as the civil war it takes it's name from must have been (see review). It's a fiesta in your face, a sombrero you can't take off once you're inside the loud colours, hackneyed murals, and Tijuana rest-stop relics. But it's all in good fun, so take a seat and take a tour through the extensive menu of only slightly varying Mexican dishes. They're all good (though perhaps too mild for your corrupted taste buds). So the food is mucho bueno, but more importantly, how are the margaritas? The answer: effective.

Mexico 1867

"Oh yeah, the name. A history lesson: Seems 1867 was important to both Mexican and Slovenian history. In that year Maximilian I, Emperor of Mexico and brother of Austro-Hungarian Emperor Franz Joseph I, and his army of 6,000 volunteers - including many Slovenians - lost the Mexican Civil War. The Slovenians who survived, preferring their homeland, returned there (to start this great Mexican restaurant!)."
